Home » Info » Our Prayer for the Week

O Lord, who for our sake fasted forty days and forty nights: give us grace to use such abstinence, that, our
flesh being subdued to the spirit, we may ever obey your godly will in righteousness and true holiness; to your honour and glory, who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end.Amen.

We pray today for those in need, in particular:

Martin, Mia, Dorothy, Peter, Olive, Bill, Kaitlyn, Lola, Val, Sarah, Don and Yvonne, Sue, Lilli, Lesley and, of course, Liz, her family and the entire CMS missionary team.

We also pray for:

God our heavenly Father
through your Son you promised
to those seeking first your kingdom
and your righteousness
all things necessary for bodily welfare:
send us, we pray, in this time of need,
rain to water the earth,
that we may receive its produce
to strengthen and sustain us
and always praise you for your bounty;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Students and Teachers

God of all truth, teach us to love you with
heart and mind. Bless our schools, colleges
and universities that they may be lively
centres for sound learning, new discovery,
and the pursuit of wisdom.
May all who teach and all who learn seek and
love the truth, and in humility look to you,
the source of all wisdom and understanding,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Our bishop, Peter Stuart. We pray that he will continue to provide love and support to the people of this Diocese.

For a replacement scripture teacher at Wingham High School. Pray that the right person will come forward and be encouraged to teach and grow the High School Ministry at Wingham High School.

Persecuted Christians throughout the world who face hardship because of their religious or cultural identity. Let us hold in our hearts and prayer all who are walking a path through the violence and uncertainties of our time.

The strength to be able to follow the example of Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.

Growth in our Parish. May we also pray that more will come to know God and His Son Jesus Christ and be willing to share publicly their Faith. Also pray that our Parish Family will find peace, happiness and good health as we move through 2017.

Pray that God might break down the barriers of prejudice in our lives that we might show His love to all we meet.
